The AE Proof Test System (AEPTS) is an exciting new application of Acoustic Emission (AE) technologies. AEPTS can inspect heart valves by applying a compression loading sequence to the valve while monitoring for Acoustic Emissions. The system is a combination of hardware and software that together carries out an automated test sequence with subsequent accept/reject criteria and an overall decision. The software is even designed with an accident prevention feature.
